It works. The cans have a 3 year warranty. The green button started leaking fuel and I put in a warranty claim last week and got a new spout in the mail yesterday. Can't ask much better than that.

You know, I have never though of that, just break/cut off that thing, they are an absolute PITA. Supposed to keep kids out or something. If you kid is opening a gas can and drinkin the crap, he should not survive anyway! All this safety crap just kills me!

Somebody (Stihl?) needs to make a top for 1 gallon chain oil bottles that works the same way. I'm soooooooooooooooooo tired of wiping up spilled/overflowed chain oil! I don't think I have EVER filled a bar oil tank without spilling or overflowing it all over the place, EVER!

I thought that was "the norm"
Corrosion protection, wiping oil all over the bar & saw body.

have a husqy, it leeks bar oil just sitting there, I assume that's supposed to happen, more corrosion prevention.
    :D

+1 for cutting the cap locks off the jugs.

The spill proof jugs I got, made a mess, stopped the flow but when I pulled the spout out of the saw, it drained the spout & dumped gas all over,
Made the spilled oil easier to wipe up. :)

Modified them to work for me & splill less

What brand is the good one for filling a saw.? Not the above one, for me anyway .

I don't spill oil anymore I use a funnel and put it into a gear oil bottle or I screw the gear oil bottle cap right onto a one quart bottle of bar oil

Yup gear oil jugs are handy, but you better mark them clearly as having something different in there or there could be a problem.

Glad to hear that these great cans have a great warranty. We don't have no spill cans in Canada that I know of yet but I did pick up 3 of them them (5 gal, 2.5 gal & 1.25 gal) the last time I was south of the border

I've seen valve stems with the shrader valve removed installed as well. Thread some solid copper wire through the stem and then feed it towards the hole you drilled. Not sure what size was used though. Pull it through and put the cap back on.

I fixed a couple of old cans like that because mice had chewed half the vent thing off
