When you ride a motorcycle it is quite common to see the IDIOTS driving their cars texting or playing with their phones. Pathetic how we have allowed the technology to become an actual addiction...........
all that info about time at the throttle will be made public, if you want to find it. the one thing that sticks in my head, it was reported this train was only 11 minute out of phillt sta.?add all the other speed facts and a concussed memory?
One last morbid thought, this may turn out to be a similar case as the airplane that crashed a couple months ago where the pilot locked the others out of the cockpit and nosedived into the side of a mountain committing suicide with company. Things just don't add up with the usual answers to why this happened.
It's amazing what you see when you drive a lot. I've seen people reading newspapers spread out over the steering wheel, reading hardback and paperback books, writing in tablets, shaving with an electric razor and a guy eating a bowl of cereal while steering with his knee. Not to mention makeup, hair fluffing and changing clothes.
Reports this morning that the train may have been struck by a rock/bullet. Hard to believe that nearly every major company has satellite transponders on their trucks that send automatic alerts every time a driver exceeds the posted speed limit by a ~5mph and trains don't have this?
Not really...we are talking about the Federal Government here. Amtrac's board members are appointed by the president of the United States. Trucking companies are private owned. The gov. doesn't do anything till they are forced to. Amtrac should be sold to the real corporation/highest bidder or completely dissolved. (along with the post office)
The conductor clearly wasn't shot. So even if it was shot at... that doesn't explain why it sped up or derailed
