I did a search and came up empty but it seems as if I remember a thread on this so if it's a dupe, sorry!

Who here runs a garden tractor for wood duties and things besides mowing?

I have an old jd 314 that I have been using for a few years now. I treat it like a rented mule and it seems to take it all and then some.

So yesterday while surfing CL, I found a guy parting his old jd 318 out. I scored some nice bar tires, front tires that actually hold air for more than a week, and a 54" hydro plow! I also got some big azz wheel weights over the winter for it so she's ready to be beaten on like a team of rented mules now!

I went to youtube to see just what these machines and plows can do and I was very surprised. The Plow isn't just for snow...that thing will push dirt, stone, brushpiles, etc! It's got a lockout so it won't trip while treating it like a dozer ;)

I still have to run some hydro lines to the front of my jd off my parts machine, but I'm ready to see how much back breaking work I can now accomplish by just sitting on it!

Pics will come, I promise...plow getting picked up today by a friend and my tractor is at deer camp 80 miles away. Hope to get it all hooked up this weekend and do some more food plotting also!

I'm looking forward to taking some of the workload off my aging atv.

Soooooo, who's using a gt? What's the hardest you have worked it? Lets see some action shots!

Don't have any action shots but I've got a 1972 John Deere 110 that I plow, snow blow, mow, and till with. Probably going to sell it all soon though since I picked up the Kubota.

I don’t have any action shots either, but I’ve got a Wheel Horse C-125 circa early 1980’s. The previous owner had the engine rebuilt, and since I got it in 2013 I’ve repainted the hood, wheels and fender, added wheel weights to the back, put new tires on the front, and added about 120lbs of fluid to all 4 wheels. I use it mostly to push snow in the winter and haul wood, but I used the blade quite a bit this spring to clear out some areas that had been taken over by sticker bushes. I also have a 36” mower that I use between my stacks where my ZTR won’t fit. I opted for a gear drive so I can put it in gear and walk along it picking up sticks and tossing them in the trailer in the yard after the winter or big storms. I’ve also used the hitch to back boats into my shed when I let some friends store them at my place.

I'm also using it to teach my daughter how to use a clutch. She's already better at driving it than my wife is!

I have 3 John Deeres, a 212, 317 and LA110. Mostly used for mowing as I have other equipment for hauling and bigger tasks.

It's been really handy since I got this cart last fall for wood related projects. I went to Lowe's to grab a bagger on clearance and they tossed in the cart really cheap. Someone assembled it wrong and returned it so the manager sold it to me for 50 bucks. I was excited since I'm normally the moron pays full price! I've been using it to move old landscape rocks back to my expanding stacking area as well. Beats the heck out of the wheel barrel. 20150510_163718.jpg

Please don't sell that thing. They worth s fortune down this way. More if they restored. Fix it up and start showing it

I have a 110 and a 140 love them. I really think you will regret selling it

If I was closer I would buy it from you and wouldn't Haggle on the price either

Wish I had the time to restore it but just too much going on between the 2 jobs. They sell pretty good up here as well. Just need to find another like minded person that likes old iron.

I thought I had a picture of the 2072, 317 and LA110 lined up. The front tires on the Cub were larger than the rears on the 110. The Cub came from my best friend, he got it on sale in the '86 - '87 time period and it still cost over $7500.

    Get so
get some slime. My front Atv tire had a crack so bad it would only hold air for a few hours. It sealed it up after a few miles and hours. Held that original air for almost three weeks now.
