as for equipment, yea......62,000 lb truck, 4-way pantograph moffet.......that's about $250k........for delivering pellets........and we have 2 of them! This year, we are trying something new......got a Hino truck, class 3 (25, 950 GVW), and mounted a donkey lift on it...

its a much lighter lift, on a lighter truck, which gets better fuel mileage.......our hopes are that we can do the more outlying deliveries easier and cheaper......our bigger trucks get 4.5 mpg, the Hino is much better.......we'll have to see how it goes....

 

Personally I MUCH prefer the p43 over the Accentra F/S....MUCH easier to service and clean!

 

It looks like it will be very easy to clean ,no plates covering the heat exchanger or the exhaust fan, which is a pita to get out have to tilt at a funky angle .

 

well, not really an issue getting the plates out of the Accentra f/s once you know how, but what I don't like is you cannot directly see the baffles.....which means oftentimes people wont see how dirty they are, and wont clean them. Also, once you add that grooved cover, you now have a close heat exchanger, which in extreme cases of neglect ( ) can actually plug and close off. Not a big deal if you're reasonable about cleaning, as I am sure everyone here is! Buuuuut, there are those rare few out there.........

 

Those are easy enough ,it's the cover over the exhaust fan ,that sucks you have to tilt it down and to the right and pull out through the bottom opening that is a challenge for me . Most of the time I take it off lay it down so I can see the esp probe, vac it out and put it back .

 

Wait, you mean the Harman's don't clean themselves?

You guys are going to laugh but my biggest complaint about cleaning the P43 is it's not *as easy* to clean as the P68! That's simply because the firebox is smaller, so there is less room to move around in there. It's not tiny by any means, but it's just small enough to be noticeable, after cleaning the P68 for 7 seasons prior. No biggie, I still wouldn't give it up for anything.

 

Will, how are you planning to vent the P43? Just curious, the pics don't show the flue outlet for the old wood stove.

Very nice! You going all the way up and out with it, running a pellet liner inside the stainless, or are you going to terminate the pellet flue at the entrance to the SS liner? I have one stove configured the first way and another configured the second way, so just curious to see which approach you will take.
