Cool (cold?) here for the next week. No 70's in sight. It's funny how 35 in January feels warm but in May it's cold.

I just dumped a bag in the stove, down to the 30's tonight.

After the hot flashes and you getting used to the cold comes the arthritis followed close behind by the biggest fires for longer and increased fuel bills, you have been warned, then those drinks will be to keep you cold while working on the stash.

Beautiful cool spring here now. I haven't run the stove for a while because it is in the reconstruction zone. Now it sits in the middle of the downstairs that has been striped clear of all internal walls, ceilings, flooring, etc. A total gutting.
ordered the flooring yesterday. the rest of the cabinets arrive Tuesday. Appliances arrive on the 24th. New electrical work going in next week by master electrician. Plumbing is half done. New Furnace is up and running.
Still waiting on the additional windows to go in. We are using full view doors and plenty of windows. These old eyes need all the light available. Most all the surfaces are going to be very light colored. the overhead lighting will be recessed lighting on dimmers. All LED. All outlets ground fault and surge protected. Some extra things going in because it is being done by licensed tech. so it is code compliant. My old handy work is all being ripped out.
I am anxious to see it move on. Most of the walls, ceiling and flooring is being done by my son. He works a few days here and then some days where he can earn better money than I can pay him.

Bedrooms require AFI units these days for most places. My house has its share of such things as well as GFIs. The entire bottom floor is on one or the other as is half of the upstairs. I haven't had to monkey with the electrical system here except to get all of the multiway lights to be off when the switches were all down. Most of the ceiling lights are on such critters.

Well I started reassembling the backup snow blower yesterday. I should have installed an overhead crane in the garage to help me get up after having been down on my knees puting thing back together, getting down isn';t an issue getting unfolded and up is. I'm trying to work a little on getting ready for winter each day, tomorrow may be mowing day and no winter work.

We did our first run for brews and various pork products on Wednesday and ended up doing a junk store run broken up by a visit to Bray's to my relief they had added the sausage platter back to the menu, unfortunately they changed the ingredients, leaving out the sauerkraut and potatoes so I asked why they changed it and it turns out they also don't have a Ruben anymore only a Rachel on the menus as well, the waiter said it was above his pay grade to understand why.

The boss got a few books at Salvation Army since they are cheap to start with and it was half price day. I didn't find anything to interest me.

Yesterday was warsh day and tinker with the snow blower day.

Today was entertain the little one day and do some more snow blower work.
