I left the camp last night with the stove started after I cleaned it I came down this morning it was 40° in the camp thanks to the electric heat and the stove said E2 I restart it on a higher setting because the manual said to start on a minimum setting of five to make sure good fire was going this morning and after got a good fire going and burned for a while it put up the E-2 again and went out. WTF? It's a new stove. The other possibilities in the manual are checking igniter for build up for failure, I know the igniter is working right because fire started good. Then loose thermal sensor. Dammit!
I don't own an Englander stove myself, but it looks like E2 means that proof of fire wasn't detected. That is most likely a snap disc in the exhaust path that closes when the temp is reached. If so, you can disconnect the wires to that sensor and connect them together, making the control board think the disc is closed and see if the stove runs normally afterwards. Don't run it like that permanently though. I may be wrong with my assumption, but I'm sure one of the Englander experts here will chime in and correct me if I am. Not sure if the info below is the same as what is in your manual but it might be of some use. http://www.englanderstoves.com/help/PelletStove/ecodes04.html
I have a afton bay by st. croix and as long as you press the start button and then place it in one of 3 settings the stove just runs it's heart out. There is no min. setting until the stove warms, some of these stoves are just to picky for me.....
Oooooooohhhhh. You mean I have to keep the WHOOOOLE stove clean. Yeeesh. Why didn't you just say that? As I sit here and my blower turns on and blows beautiful heat on me I thinks back and laugh at myself. Many years ago I remember being told you have to keep your heating appliance clean. Very important. Years later I was then told this when I started burning wood in a wood stove. Very important. And then, years later, I was told this when I started burning wood in my wood burning gasification boiler. Very important. And then I was told this when I started burning in this nice pellet stove. Very important. I had been cleaning the easy stuff. Well, I needed to do a much better job. Now that I did that, this thing is heating like crazy again. This stove is not picky by any means. I have burned about 5 different kinds of pellets in it and it does not care, it burns them. But when you allow the thermal sensor to get all covered up in black and white crap and dust ............. Thanks for all your help guys. You've been great! LOFL Hope mass was good.
The small passages in the back of the stove are the most important. You need to understand how the exhaust gases get from the firebox, to the exhaust blower, and out the exhaust vent. Cleaning this passage is vital to the stove breathing well and running at its best. Glad you got it working again.
LOL, Now picture this, what would happen if you attached a leaf blower's vacuum attachment to your vent pipe?
