So, a couple days ago I was out in the front yard working on the 455 and one of my nearby neighbors stops by. He REALLY likes to talk, so I just listened and he mentions that he's planning to move soon. He tells me he has a Homelite with a new chain (might have mentioned a new bar too), that he no longer uses ( VERY bad heart problems) and it's mine if I want it. I told him I'd drop over and take a look and probably just go ahead and take it, but also told him if I did, I'd pay him something for it. He insisted he wouldn't take my money. He has no clue what it is other than it's a Homelite. He also mentioned he has some wood under a tarp that I can have (that should be interesting). No idea what kind of wood either. I drove over the following day, but he wasn't home, so no pics.....yet. I'm envisioning a little saw that might be gooder for limbing or something, but I'll be back with more info and pics when I pick it up. Stay tuned.................
I've had instances like that, could be ho-hum a beat up saw and some stick gathered from the yard, or could be a gold mine of a minty saw and a years worth of seasoned oak!
This is the door I pick. However, well, I'll just reserve judgement until I see what's what. He's got a '72 or 73 Nova that could be taken to the track and would probably run in the 11s. He could gift that to me. I wouldn't mind a bit.
Could be a 750,Super 1050/2100 or 3100 Geardrive (my wishlist) or most likely a mid 80's Super 2 top handle that's a parts donor (already got one of dose,thanx)
