It's 13:30 and still no splitter, my neighbor hasn't been home all day so I'm assuming he got called into work last night as I heard him leaving around 9 PM. Hopefully this day doesn't get screwed up.:headbang:

I'm in the same exact predicament. My buddy was gonna drop his off today but he was running late from work and had a lot to do. Oh well.. I'm gonna start another stacking area this afternoon instead.

That (hemlock?) brush looks like it is going to make one nice fire, just need to wait until we get some rain.

I could do that to some of them but some of that oak is just unpleasant I'd spend a good half hour per round with a maul and wedge just to get anywhere. It is one knotty tree.:headbang: Turns out he was at work all day. Ugh I'll be up there tomorrow to see if he can bring it down but I'm not holding my breath.

In my experience, if it is that knotty, a splitter doesn't do to good either. It just tears it up into blocks and scraggly pieces. I have started cutting them up with the saw in nice 4x4s or so... But I am selling and not burning.

No brush burn ban until May 15th, and it's mostly hemlock limbs but there's red maple, red oak, and some cherry in there too. I've honestly been burning it bit by bit in my fire pit.:emb:

Scraggly is better than not split at all for burning, and I could noodle them but it's a far more expensive way of doing it in respect to fuel and wear on the saw.

People have lives I know but it's still a break up in my plans for the weekend. Any chance he'll be down tomorrow so you can split your stacks?

No, but I'm pretty laid back.

I have taken mild hallucinogenics in Fiji with the locals though.

Not sure I'll comment out in the open on that, or where I've been to... Perhaps a story for our W.O.S. thread...
