That would bee cool but it would take days just to get there!!! I seriously want to go. So does the wife. I would think it would be cool to snowmobile into a back country cabin and stay a week or so in winter.
You are right it would be a great trip and I like the out doors. I Go to to Yellowstone, Teton wilderness area on horse back every year.
My money says it's an MS291 and the oval sticker is from the dealer where he got it. I don't think they put that style of hand guard on any of the pro models and I'd be surprised if a guy who's paying such a premium for shipping would send a clamshell all the way to Randy... Would be a helluva cool story though!!
I've sent a bunch of saws to Alaska over the years. That saw looks like a 391/291 though. I've never done one of those.
Reality shows do nothing for me. Really not much TV at all unless sports or a movie. If I want to know anything about the Yukon I just ask John. Been sending him needed chainsaw parts from time to time when he ask since going there. Matter of fact just sent a 046 p+c up that way. Even sent him a book he wanted me to get. I sent it for a Christmas gift and told him enjoy. John is still working on his new cabin. But man I sure enjoyed pics of the first one.
Different strokes I guess. See sports and movies are not my thing and nothing for me. I am watching LBZ and when ever it was filmed...fall maybe??? Anyway Sue is in Cold foot and fuel there is $5.499 but that cold foot in remote villages I can see it $7-8/gallon.
i admit i will watch anything in alaska i cant stand where i live and seeing all the space and beauty makes me envious .
I also watch most anything alaska. Not the railroad or state troopers. And I think there is a new vet show up there with the new vet popularity
Just saw that Sue in coldfoot episode last night and also noticed the $5.49 at pump. BUT that is a big difference, that is right next to a refinery and oil wells.... and "big town". I was referring to the small remote villages with no roads or access. Fuel has to be flown in by bush plane or dog sled/snow machine in winter when frozen.
I know what you meant. The wells are up north but refineries are down south in the valdeze and south area from what Bogy said.
Still looking for the 1st cabin pic I saved, which was way more rustic and smaller then the new one he is building. In real life not some tv .
I get what your saying Cut but I can't build a cabin in Alaska. If a crew followed your guy and put it on tv it would be reality tv. A real guy really building his cabin. I watch Building Alaska on DIY channel and its just what your talking about real builders building real cabins. The last 2seasons were more rustic than this years. This year one guy was building a pretty big cabin. The others were more normal. One was crazy cause they helicoppered in the logs into the copper canyon but the guys were all real. I admit there is some fake shoes out there.
Most of it becomes fake as producers try to one up everything as they think normal life even up there is boaring. Much of it is just repeating an action misses by camera. Some is like...let's see you build a bridge or plant a garden. Some is totally done for drama.
Then you have this cabin after above. Where he moved up to satellite dish used with little GEN. See saws on roof.
