    This Enviro Meridian Insert did not have a Cleanout-T so it plugged up easier. The new close clearance Adapter-T has a built in stove adapter to fit in the back of the fire place insert exhaust flange and make the stove much easier to clean. Also if a small amount of ash builds up it will not choke the stove!

    A clean out T should be recommended in any install that goes vertical inside the house (liner, up and out, or straight up).

    agreed with above, unless the rigid pipe is too close to the floor, which would keep you from removing the bottom of the tee. Some pellet vent outfits (ICC) make a quick disconnect as well

    This Breckwell P22i is almost touching the floor, but I made the cleanout work! Made my job easier!

    Pic shows a 4 " Cleanout T with 3" reducer adapter and a 45 deg elbow with 4" flex adapter to 4" liner.

    My tee is only a couple inches above the floor. I would do it differently if I ever did one again.

    might be seeing this wrong, Don, but by adding the extra 90 degree ell, you're increasing your EVL by another 5', and in many cases, might throw you over the 15' max

    Don, I do not have the know how, but I would like the bottom of my clean out tee high enough for me unscrew the cap easily, and put a bowl underneath the catch the chimney sweeping. It's a PIA to remove and replace the cap, and I am using plastic bag to catch the flyash below. Oh, the answer to your question would be, I would ask for suggestions here :)

    I have used 45º to tip the clean outs. May not get it off the floor, But should allow easier removal.

    One way to get the stove higher is to build a base to raise it up higher.



    Ol Donny should know all about that. And some tidbits about rope lights too. :D

    It would look like this pic, But instead of the 90º which tips the tee level. The 45º would tilt the tee on a 45. Yet the pipe that connects to the tee would still be straight up the wall.

    I just used a 90º elbow up out of the appliance adapter. The exhaust ports sit so low on these stoves I don't see how most are usable. No way I could get a brush in mine with only a few inches between the cleanout and hearth, and I pretty much have to disassemble to clean anyhow since I have another 2 90ºs where the pipe goes through the thimble so the pipe on each side of the thimble has to be cleaned separately. This setup has proven to be a pita and I'd like to do something different but don't want to drill another hole through the walls! So using the existing chimney.
