It's yo-yo season one day will be close to 80 next might not make 60- wind off Lake Michigan and intermittent rain- was around 55 when I got up at 330am feels colder now 930am though and of course damp. Likely fire the stove again this evening been kind of and every other day routine for the last couple weeks.

Could be the last one. A record too, I think. Stone cold to bright orange cat in fifteen minutes. 0505151517.jpg

    Yea

Probably fires on & off now as needed,
though today's cloudy, still a little heat is needed.

After 2 days, seem to be a few hot coals left , not sure if that counts as burning ? ?

Just cleaned out all the ashes and will pickup a can of damp rid to sit in the stove, all done......"the fat lady has sung" next fire in the stove will be in the fall. I'm going to pull out the cat and have look, might just go ahead and order a new cat.

    Was 32.4° last night.
Still need a fire or let the furnace take over.

I notice NG prices are going up.
Something to do with the contract tariff & thru-put.
Less NG used in the summer so the price goes up to cover for the loss of revenue .

I got the wood & it's right next to the stove.
might as well keep burning for another week or so.

I thought I'd let the fires burn out on the OWB this week but 99 says not yet.
Extended shows five nights in the 30's and 5 days in the 40's-50's.
I'll let it burn for awhile yet.

    Forecast for similar here.
Be burning for a little longer, & that's OK :)

Had a small fire last night going to have a small one right now.
I could turn on one or two electric heaters and be good but I just can't see it, when I can throw in some sticks and warm the place up, for the night

    Yea , feel the same.
Better to use the wood & save $$ for something else.
Cloudy so not gonna get as cold , to be mid 40°s.

Boat ride to moose camp this morning to see how it wintered .
When we got back, wife had started a fire.
Said the furnace kicked on twice, enough of that, house 73° when I got home this evening.

54° now & a little wind, out of the south, bringing cool air off the inlet.
Forecast for 40° , & we have lots of wood !
    House nice & warm :D
