but it got cloudy & started raining,
    & she instantly got cold
She went & added a 3/4 load for the night. :)

    75° in here now.

Had 66° , sun most of the day.to be near low 40°s at night.
Prob can get by with a load every 2 days now.
run on low & get near 40 hour burns.

    Stove does need emptied,
think she will do that tomorrow
But we'll have plenty of wood ready
in case she needs/wants a fire.

Calling for the mid 70s here today, I might bring the shop vac in and give the IS a cleaning today.
We are lucky enough to get lows in the mid 50s lately, have nt burned in over 3 weeks

No fire the last 2 nights here.....very strange, as we're usually burning into at least the middle of May.
I can see the forecast showing a few chilly nights, but nothing bad.
Might even start putting something in the garden.
Dave, how many hours of sunlight now?

Nothing added since Thursday. I hope it's all burned up by now. I have a partial load and some kindling in the rack on the hearth, maybe for Tuesday, but it looks like that might be the last one.

Hopefully forever in this house  Contractor's inspection tomorrow.

Wifey was chilly last evening so I built a fire right before bed......I usually shut the stoves down around mid-May, and by the looks of the forecast that looks like it's gonna be the case this year too. Supposed to hit mid 80's here at the end of this week.....

House has been on the market since late fall. Finally got an acceptable offer.

Haven't had the stove running for a few days. The pellet boiler is still making hot water until the bin gets as empty as I can make it, which won't be too long.

Wife plans to empty the stove today

I heard emotion in her words,
I think she'll have daily fires to slowly withdraw from having a warm fire. :)

I ended up emptying the stove & hauling the ashes to the garden.
Think I got "Tom Sawyered" by a pro ! :)

Added 2 barkless splits to a small pile of hot coals, should hold till tonight.
Forecast for low 30°s tonight , so at bedtime, I'll ad 4 or 5 splits.

    Technically still burning 24/7

I may have fired the OWB for the last time this evening. The next couple of days will tell. Cautiously a bit early around here to shut it down though.
