    and this is only May.......
It'a almost as if some pellets sellers, after hearing or reading about many who say,"Buy Early", Well, it's like they want to gouge us now. Why wait for winter.
"your not gonna get over on us in the spring pelletHeads.."
Could also be the ones who will have limited stock so want to make a killing early in the year.before they run out....

No what they are going to do is drive some of us back to burning oil...sounds like a great business plan to me of they want to store a whole lot of pellets next year.

Don't think too many of them are worried about that. Europe will buy as much as we can ship there.

looks like i'm going with 4 skids of la Crete's, or 4.8 tons for this upcoming year.
HHO is up. I'm not running the hedge on the pig.

ordering my new slider soon too--- thank you uncle sam for giving me my money back!

$342 for a 60 bag skid is just a few bucks more than i paid for a 50-bag skid of gold's last season. it's like getting 9 bags free.

Sorry I missed this. Yes I did pick up 2 bags of Blackstones as well. Not going to get to test burn them this season though...Seems like the cold weather just disappeared overnight. Literally.

secured my 4.8 tons (4 60 bag skids) of la crete's. will be here next week :)
I must also say that i'm impressed with the delivery charge. way less than i expected it to be.

in the past it's been 50 for the 1st, 10 for each additional. so, 90 for these 4 skids
it's only 63 according to my math of quoted total vs per skid prices this time around. I'm happy about this, seeing as i'm about 2 miles from the warehouse i felt 90 was a lot to pay.

Ran the math on the per ton price, and that doesn' t add up (200 bucks for delivery) so i think it's legit :)

Stopped at a True Value hardware store yesterday for some goodies. Figured I would ask about early buy pricing while I was there. Lignetics are what they sell. He told me the pricing schedule for the year is: May, June - $299/ton, July, Aug - $309/ton and Sep, Oct - $319/ton. Also mentioned getting a small quantity of Northern / Comfort / Cubex with the entry price being $320.

Also of note, the local TSC has moved 50 tons of pellets from the caged area out back behind the store in what I refer to as the manager's secret overflow stash. That's about half their supply, and no doubt they moved it to make room for spring stuff. So...despite the fact they are swimming in pellets when it's 80+ degrees outside, it seems pretty unlikely they are planning to hold a "spring sale". Guess they would rather sit on that inventory for the summer.

Steve, the Purcells are pretty good. I got to burn one bag. They remind me of the Platinum Pellets, only without the pleasant smell. In fact, these have hardly any smell at all. They have a red-ish color and are very dry, light, and burn very clean. Problem for me is the $309/ton price. The thing is, these are competing with Vermonts at $301 and Blazers at $318, and those are tough acts to follow as you know. In this specific situation, I can't make a case to buy them, given the other available options that are priced so closely. If they were priced a little lower and pitted against lesser quality competition, it would be a different story. Very glad to have been able to try them finally!

Nice score Will. Sorry if this has been asked and answered already but are those Energex Americans the same product as chows or not?

I burned 2 tons of each year ago.. Chows have a different smell when bag opened and when burned... sweeter smell.
heat and ash about equal.. very close to same pellets but not 100% same.the mystery widen..:headbang:

Suspect they are the same and what you describe is merely batch variance. Same thing I experienced when I bought different batches of chows and different batches of FSUs this season. The two batches of FSUs I bought were so dramatically different you wouldn't believe they were the same pellets. Chow batches were similar but I got MUCH more ash from one batch than the other.
