As I was reading it I was wondering what that last sentence was going to end with.

Hit a nerve there! I had to run upstairs and take the shortbread and bread out of the oven. Guess what still is left on downstairs in the SEWING room. I have fluorescent lights and LED lights down there as well as an iron that auto shuts off.

I put the holiday lights up in the bushes, and the kitchen floor redo is complete. While outside, I saw a sharp-shinned hawk fly into some bushes only about 10ft away trying to get a squirrel. I spooked it, but it has been moving around the neighbors yards this afternoon.

It was overcast all day except for two minutes at sundown when the sun was able to shine through a break in the clouds. I looked out the mudroom window as it was incredibly bright and snapped this.

I went out to a down bird this evening she is still alive but one never knows for how long, I have her in a box with shavings, water, and food in the garage. Hopefully she'll recuperate otherwise I'll have to put her down.

Have you tried www.1000bulbs.com I ordered a 4 pack of some low wattage LEDs, two for the coops, one for Frosty, don't feel like plugging the old guy in because he can chew power even with the CFL that is in him.

I'd be happy with the lights being on in the sewing room if she'd turn off the other ones upstairs plus the TV. When on the TV is close to 140 and the cable box is close to 40. The other lights that are normally on (yeah right) I did something about today. The CREE 60 Watt equivalents are just under $7.00 a pop here at HD, Efficiency ME is footing the price difference.

You have to soak them in kerosine first.

I'm working one replacing the multicolored miniature lights on a prelit tree I bought a few years ago.

Changing them for LEDs. I think whoever applied the lights was a very perverse SOB. I'm dumping just a few watts and I already had the LEDs.

Had a great day today. Met some riding friends for breakfast. We meet at least once a month in the off season just to stay in touch and shoot the breeze.

Then went home and Mama was making turkey soup, so I figured out I was going to become her assistant if I didn't find something else to do, so I put up the Christmas lights. They look purdy, and then tended the stoves, and put a good stack of wood on he deck.

We had a great Turkey Soup supper with home made zuchini bread, and then settled back with a movie on the home theater. The local movie theaters have got nothing on me, and I don't get any 10 years olds kicking the rear of my seat.

While we're watching the movie I turn the lights down low, just like at the theater and the Fv gave us such a sweet light show.

If you haven't seen "42" yet, I highly recommend it.

On a Christmas shopping trip today. Wish I was cutting wood. Oh well, spend some time with the little women and I'll make sure I get a nice lunch out of it at one of the many restaurants!:D

No decorating yet, those thing are upstairs in the garage and it is too cold out to mess with them now. Seems I am later every year with that stuff. I'll put some wreaths up outside and call it good. I used to string hundreds of lights, have inflables etc, but being alone in the woods isn't much incentive to do all that work. We have a Victorian village that hasn't been out of their boxes in years. We will see the kids for Christmas Eve and then it is over. Pack it up for another year. I have a friend who has a large closet. This friend keeps the Christmas tree in it, all decorated. The tree gets pulled out for a couple weeks!

I'm afraid that our living room tree wouldn't fit in any of our closets put together let alone decorated. No way would I even attempt it.

Here it is from a few years ago rstree.jpg

Around 12' the tree is 9' and yes I need a ladder to trim it. I was planning on using it in its 7.5' configuration this year but the boss wants it tall until I can't do the ladder thing.
