Well it's official. I have a new favorite pistol.
Mrs. TurboDiesel got me a Browning Buckmark for Christmas. I finally got to shoot it yesterday and I never realized that a gun could be so easy to shoot. I shot about the first 40 shots without making any adjustments. It was hitting about 2.5 " high and about 3/4" left. So I gave the rear site elevation knob a spin with my fingernail and it went 5 clicks. Then I shot about another 50 rounds and I really liked what I saw.
Here is the target. The groups were 10 rounds each and fired in about 7-10 seconds at about 30' off hand
Note, there is nothing scientific here. Just breaking in the new toy.
Also, I wasnt the only one shooting this target, so there are shots scattered around that weren't mine
Sorry for the grainy cell pic

Sweet, mine is the hunter. Bass Pro Shops has extra mags at a good price.

Nice! I like the slab side, but I ended up with a Camper URX instead. They're all stellar shooters!

My first pistol was a standard model Buckmark. It shoots better than I can.

Yeah, sure is a grainy pic at that! Appears to have holes all over that target....

Hoping to get out to a range soon and run a few hundred through mine. Heard about a free range not too far from us.

The Buckmark is a great pistol. If it fit my hand I'd own one or two.

    damm my small, clownish hands.

Do you have a (or have you held) a Ruger Mark I,II,III? I traded a 10/22 back in the winter for a Mark I, and the grip seems a lot smaller. I've let my 7 year old daughter shoot both, and she much prefers the Ruger because of the grip size.

I have short fat fingers. The UDX contoured wood grip is a great fit...at least for me

Everyone that has one loves them.
When I went looking for a 22, the Ruger was at the top of my list.
I really wanted one. But It was so uncomfortable for me that I just could not get past the the feel. The sharp squared corners made it a no go.

Sharp corners? Are you referring to the 22/45? Because my Mark I is very rounded, and pretty comfortable and the II and III should be the same.

The 22/45 on the other hand has a plastic lower instead of metal and a larger grip and more shallow angle to match the 1911. It feels cheap to me.

I did not like how the Mark III felt in my hand at all.

I've custom built a number of MK l's and ll's, and currently have a few. The grip angle fits me fine. The Walther P-22 is the best fit for me though.
Just something about the Buckmark wasn't right.
