On my way home a couple days ago, and what do I see? A log truck NOT going to my house. Nice big Oak logs......NOT going to my house. Headed toward Lewiston. Followed it and took a couple pics, but not easy when you're going downhill and around a curve at 55 mph, so I won't post that one.
LOL!! "No really I swear officer, I'm a wood hoarder!!" I have done the exact same thing! I have even turned off the road to follow the truck to see where it was going. The mistake I made was doing this with my wife in the truck once, on the way to a wedding reception! I've never seen them stack sideways like that before??
Wood burning seems to be gaining popularity in my area. I'm seeing and hearing a lot more of my neighbors running chainsaws and restocking their wood supplies right now, instead of waiting until the fall like they usually do. I guess that's what a couple of bone-chilling winters will do to you! There's just no replacement for that wood heat!
Yeah, I would have no reason to go to Idaho. A lot of these trucks are headed to any one of a multitude of sawmills around. Some end up in folks yards/driveways. Funny..but not. I was thinking the whole time I might end up going off the road, and made sure there were no cars coming from the other direction. Two pics and I quit.......shouldn't have even done those. I just keep thinking to myself "I wonder how many of us see this on a regular basis". Very normal around here, and the running joke is "hey, that truck is going the wrong way.....should be heading to my house".
I see logging trucks about everyday around here, but they dont look like that Thats what happens when you dont put a location in your profile
You lookin in the wrong place Take a look right above Dave's signature , and go get your eyes checked
Whoa! dont know how I missed that. I am just so accustomed to looking to the left side where all the stats are at when looking for someones location But you are correct, I am due for my eye exam here in a couple months( gotta get one every 2 years for my job)
It's funny ,when I'm on here I pass over my weather ticker all the time and I go click on the national weather service to find out the temp
Probably not the best price you could find though Fire wood check out pics 2125.00 is for 19-20cd. Estimate price for Birch Run need your location for corrected price. http://flint.craigslist.org/for/4994875938.html
Granted, this was '09, but my last log load was $1500 for 20 cord of Oak. The one prior was $1300 in '07. I'm quite sure the price has gone up, but it's funny that I can still get csd Oak for about what I first paid in '06. Weird.
so i am assuming those sideways loaded trucks are the norm in MI? I have never seen those before around here they look like this
Mostly split firewood loads in my area. A few log loads of birch & spruce. But every time I see them, I visualize a nice stack of split firewood
