the last wind event we had a week or so back, we lost a nice Hemlock along with a nice White Pine.

I'll be leaving the tops of the Hemlock and Pine down on the ground for a year, cover for the fawns.

    ? Huh?

I've got about 10 LARGE pine tree's down in my woods still from Sandy. I've cut up just about everything else around them, and I'm now getting down to the pines...

Not the fawns. Bucks! They are the ones who like to bed by downed timber.

I had a big pine come down near my gate during the recent wind storm. Maybe I'll leave the top too. Or, maybe I'll put the brush at the base of the blueberries. My soil is limestone based and the acid loving plants need all the acidic mulch they can get.
