I remember that winter… I was hauling prototype parts from Ford engineering in Detroit to a skunkworks they had set-up in an old warehouse in Grand Rapids… top secret stuff. I made a run every night for two solid weeks… sometimes it snowed so much I couldn't find the loading dock 24 hours after I'd been there...

Cool story. I didn't know Ford ever had any operations in the GR area. Which is probably why they were doing it here - nobody else would have thought of that either.

They were a few months away from introducing the 2003 T-Bird and were having trouble getting the removable hardtop to fit. They hadn't yet decided if it would be made of fiberglass or RIM plastic… they had a small assembly area set up inside this warehouse. The technicians from ford and their supplier worked 24/7 trying to get it right.

I was bringing tooling and prototype parts to and from the operation. I also transported a plastic injection die to an outfit that was making the car's "Thunderbird" emblem… the reported cost for the die was $700,000!

Well, since the snow & cold are heading in, Krooser decides it's time to test out the snowblower:
    images-2.jpeg
"Hey, where the f**k did the engine go?? G**D**n that imacman!!!"

Then, he figures it's time to go out with the wife to the store to stock up:
    images.jpeg
"Honey, can you get out & pull that prop through a couple of times? I hope you used a full can of hairspray today"

The really cool thing is that no matter what the temps are outside we all have the means to keep the indoor temps in the 70's on our dime:)

Always trying to get that last bit of ash from the stove, Krooser goes "a little over the top"
    bigturbo2.jpg

Then, he accidentally gets in front of it during it's test run
