I got to try out my new trimming box I made before the crappy weather showed up, works great makes short work out of the task, it's going to save me quite a bit of time, and the bottom is 20" off the ground so no bending over. Scrounging my wood I end up with a LOT of stuff that has to be trimmed to fit my stove,whether it be small rounds or splits or whatever. My other pole cutting rack works ok but it is slow because I have to line up the back ends of the pieces. With this box I just cram them in until they hit the back and I'm good. When I got down to a half a load today I decided to screw in some lag bolts ( didn't have any eye bolts laying around) so I can attach a hold down strap. Gave the 55 a little workout Well I took more pics that were better, but when transferring them to the pc ,something went wrong so , most of them went into outer space some where oh well ,I got enough

What is it? it is a wagon it is 24 by 48, got it at Tractor Supply couple years ago, 1000 pound weight capacity, 13 inch tires. Yes the handle converts for a pin type deal to hook to your lawn tractor or atv
Got that part , thanks ! I have a cheap dolly that converts to a cart now, but its a little awkward outside. I'm looking for something that i can pull outside with an atv and back right through the basement door and push/pull into the stove room by hand. I think this wagon might be the answer. My neighbor is getting 40 acres logged and told me I can cut firewood. Would this wagon go "off road"? It's not too rough ground
yeah I roll it right out into the woods in the dead of winter I roll that bugger full, right through the back door and unload into my bin inside

In the woodworking world we call it gang cutting. In a Firewood world we call it cutin and a whole bunch at once. I used mostly reclaimed wood but used my chop saw and stop system for building the trim box. I have seen other people saying to use a chop saw for re cutting Firewood, but holy crap, one at a time would take you forever, use the right tool for the job and don't forget keep a firm grip on your tool
That's a cool rig, it must be a big time saver. Gotta come up with something similar because lopping off poles one at a time on the saw buck takes forever. Do ya have to lash the bunch down to keep 'em from wobbling around? Oh, there it is - big 'ol fat bungee cord. I had to screw in a bunch of those eye hooks on the saw buck at different lengths for different size logs. Looks like Freddie Krueger.
For long poles this works best, works for trimming too, but slower. Never lashed anything down on it , the V shape holds the poles good Like I said I had better pics of new jig but they got lost If I fill it up , there is no need for strapping down ,with the weight and tight fit it's firm, if half full it tends to rise up in the back , it will work with out strapping it down half full but safer and faster if ya do
The right saw buck will hold more than one pole at a time too with out strapping down to cut, you just gotta start right and get the dogs in

I get so much stuff that I can use this for its worth the time to put it together, and the only thing that it cost me was some screws. I have a pile of Hickory limbs I've been putting off trimming them down to size, now I should be able to get them done quickly
