Long story short a Mennonite farmer has been bulldozing the trees into a field on my side road. I never catch him because I get home too late and he's gone. Tonight he stopped over at my place and told me to cut as much as I can by next weekend because he's gonna push it into a pile and burn it so he can plant. He noticed my stacks and said he meant to stop by last week.

OK I said.. Then I went in to change underwear..lol..

There's a lot of black locust and two massive Hackberry trees that I'm gonna grab tomorrow. Here's a few pics I took today which is like 10% of the wood and how close it is to my house. I even took a selfie with the biggest Hackberry..lol.. 20150424_185230.jpg 20150424_185316.jpg 20150424_185421.jpg 20150424_195440.jpg 20150424_195608.jpg

Well, it doesn't get dark until after 8:30, so you have a few hours after work and all weekend.
I'd be able to get at least a cord in all that time.

Got a lot of btu's to grab there... and a short time to get them. Maybe ask if he can push some logs off to the side for ya?

I hate to tell him but that wood all piled up ain't gonna burn down before he is ready to plant.

    Good luck!

Hackberry isn't bad but I'd leave it unless you get all the Locust. Apples and oranges.

Yeah he knows.. He was sick of the overhang banging up his equipment is what he said.

My buddy is coming over to drag the bigger stuff out into my neighbors yard with his tractor. My neighbor offered his back lawn for log storage and his tractor if we needed it too. The goal is to get all the locust in my splitting area then cut and drag all of the Hackberry.

x2, even worth paying him to push it over to your property and then you can process it at your leisure.
