Was able to get the pickup load of ash unloaded and stacked. Now just need to get the rest of the mess cleaned up.
A few more. Be glad when it's all done for a month or so. Should add that the south stack is black locust and ash. South end east stack is leftovers, maple, honey locust, ash, red oak, elm and others. Next to that is elm and maple and then the ash I stacked this weekend. After that is 2 year old mulberry with some oak thrown in. The north stack is maple and elm. The last one is my apple that I sell. Neighbor uses the north stack and last year dipped into the apple. That was my bad as I did not ask him to not touch.

Thanks Dave, I was told it's redbud, but have no idea. Yesterday I restacked my left-overs, 3 year old honey locust, oak, ash, russian olive, maple and others (south 8' east stack) and started the ash (middle of east stack). Today I kept working on the ash. In between them is Siberian elm and maple mix. To the left of the ash is 2 year old mulberry and a little red oak. South stack is ash and black locust. All the maple is silver, but I like it and can get long burns out of it. The east stacks are 4 rows deep with some gaps so hope that they will dry ok.
I learned it from others here. Started doing it a couple years ago and really like how it works. The city also requires it, as I found out. Of course, the city only allows you to have a 1 year supply of wood.
I'm trying concrete blocks now, as well. I'm trying to get away with only 4 blocks per pallet, just placing 2 under each outer rail and centering each row out over a rail. Yep, Redbud. We were getting dead wood for my BIL because he needs dry for next season, and we found a dead one about 8" or so. Yellow ones, center bottom.
nice stacks. I'm not use to seeing fences between neighbors, or things like "city allows" which are really limitations. you all are earlier there than we are. Just now having crocuses bloom. Notice red buds forming up on the maples. Still some snow in the back yard.
The blocks look great. Nice, clean stacks. I use one at each corner and some of my pallets I have a 5th in the center for added support. Going to need to find nicer pallets as some of mine are on the weak side.
