Finished the supplemental stacks up near the house today. Also managed to reach the halfway point in the MSB (Main Storage Building). The MSB is stacked two-deep. There is room for two more stacks. Each stack is approximately thirty feet long and seven feet high. Mowing season has officially begun. That means wood cutting time will be very thin from here on out. I feel like i am in pretty good shape, though. I will cut sporadically through summer and cut like crazy again next winter.
AWESOME!!!!!!! Things of beauty ! 2.2 cords ±/row, 4 rows will be near 9 cord of wood under cover. Is that near 2 years supply, for you ? There enough outdoor stuff to make 2 more rows in the MSB? When will it be ready to go under cover?
Not sure how much wood im gonna go through. Just getting started with this wood burning thing. My plan is to top cover the supplemental stacks and burn them this winter. It is all fast drying wood, mostly dead ash. Also some dead elm, cherry, soft maple, and a yet to be positively identified mystery wood. I'm hoping to hardly touch the wood in the MSB next winter. Like to let it season for a year or three. We'll see how far the supplementals get me.
Good plan I know birch here can get punky fast, like the maples do. I leave it out thru winter & summer then it goes to the shed before rainy season, that usually starts mid Aug .
For someone "just getting started with this wood burning thing", ya got a hell of a good start. Good work F&B!
Lookin mighty fine there cowboy. Quite a few folks that have been burning for many years don't do it like that good sir.
