I only had a certain amount of time today so I cleared a trail to this Cherry so I could buck some of it up, I was surprised that it was solid so I left some of it in case I decide to mill it up. Pic 7999 is what the trail looked like yesterday and pic 8001 is the junk wood I removed from the trail. This is the first time I've taken hardwood from this area, the only other time I've worked it was clearing some Pine for a trail which is blocked again by more Pine.
It's not a bad size, I think this area greens up with ferns quick so if I mill it, I'll wait until fall or next spring.
Beautiful woods. I like cutting cherry. Splits great by hand. Looking forward to burning some next winter.
If the rains moves out this week I would like to split some of the cherry I gathered this winter. We had a few splits of cherry burning in the pit last night.
Parts of the woods are nice and other parts are a wreck, but it's fun trying to keep up. Our lot has a ton of Cherry so we burn 3.05 cord or 10 NY Facecord a year.
The same here L.P., I would like to have all the Cherry I cut that's still in the woods split by Sunday.
