It is a great saw, I have one and really like it. It can often be found for less than $150 on eBay, manufacturer refurbished.

I've had a PP5020 for over 3 years now. It is definitely NOT a throw-away IMO. The OEM bar may be a bit much depending on the wood and the condition of the cutters. Keeping them razor-sharp is the only way to go, IMO. Mine is very "happy" with a 16" bar carrying semi-chisel chain. That chain has much better endurance than full-chisel. Granberg "File-N-Joint" highly recommended for chain maintenance, for any chain.

I still regularly use the OEM bar & chain, among others, just because they work. :saw:

I'd suggest a drop of blue loctite on the nuts that retain the carb (some plastic bits need temporary removal to access them.) Good idea to put a tiny bead of silicone on the seal face of the air filter, to keep dust out.

Not a husky but cousin to 450 IMO. P+C, crank etc is all different. More detailed info in link above. Also how to go .325 if you desire. But I prefer 3/8 16" on it.

Curious how much was one? $1 or $2 for part. I know depends on where you shop and buy from. Thinking a piston was like $8.

I think it was about $5...shipping was more than the part, so I ordered several and some other parts and filters for my other saws.

Good saw for the $, but a little too chunky for a 50cc.

Thats what I do put together larger orders to cover shipping. Unless someone else is paying for the shipping for their own saw parts.

Poulan Parts I go straight to the source. OrderTree

@ ordertree $2.39 for starter hub. Piston was $6.65 :thumbs:HOP

Yes I agree but right there with many others that cost lot more and in the 12lb range. 5100 5105 comes to mind. Come to think of it, its cousin the 450 too.
