My basil, tomatoes, butternut squash, cucumber, and I think scallions are coming up from the starter trays.
Hmmm, my peppers are not up. None of them. I'll need to check the seed packets for germination times.
About 3 weeks now Horkn plus the cat had a party in them awhile ago. Supposed to be sunny for the weekend and the hots will be by the front window. All the packs say about the same thing with the times.
The lights are on only when we are home Daryl and off at bedtime also. Not sure if that's the ticket or the warmth? Probably both I imagine.
My peppers were very sluggish at getting started and growing last year. I think it had something to do with the amount of light I had on them.
I don't think my problem was the amount of time that I gave the plants, but not enough bulbs to promote faster growth.
Debating on having a garden this year. Greenhouse got destroyed over winter, and I have not started anything indoors, so if I do I'll have to buy the plants started early. Got so much going on around the house right now, some renovating and such, not sure if I'll have time to keep up with it all. Heck I don't even know how I am going to have time to mow the lawn! lol. I'd love to garden but don't know how some can keep up with it. I may try.
I'm in the middle of trying to clear some branches off the fence they broke, and now I'm starting to think that may take a back seat to just using some chicken wire on my raised beds to keep out the bunnies and deer. Lots going on now that the weather's clearing/warming. I think the local Cub Cadet repair shop is getting some more business from me too, as I can't get the pulley off the motor shaft to replace the drive belt. The list goes on..................
I forgot to mention another reason I'm so busy and might have problems keeping up with garden (and lawn) is all my tractors are broke down at the moment too. Mostly all minor stuff but it all takes time. I have cubs too, but by the sounds of it mine are much older (no belts on these machines!). Here is one of my wide frame Cubs, getting the garden ready one of the other years I had one... And one of my quitline cubs (with my son posing) doing it the more old fashioned way...
Is it the kind with an electric clutch on it that is attached to the crankshaft? If so, it needs to be taken off with an impact wrench. That's how I got mine off, if I remember right.
I got the clutch off....no impact needed. It's the pulley I can't get pulled down to install the new belt. PB Blaster didn't help.
Dave, what is that bed made with? Never seen anything like that. I can't believe you're getting your onions out already. Nice.
Pb blaster is ok. It's better than wd40, but if you want the goodest stuff, get kroil. Seriously, it's that good. It's saved my butt, and several others from having to take things to repair shops. I forget the rest results, but it was something like 50 times better than pb blaster in lab tests.
I planted scallions already. Is that too soon? Idk, they are sprouting. We buy scallions every time we go to the store, so I thought I'd get them going.
