You must see light at the end of the tunnel, I wish I could say likewise. Far from over here but the temps are slowly creeping up:yes:

no truck any more since my accident, so with car mode, its a 5 bag at a time run which is annoying. oil is cheap enough these days to burn the pig occasionally while the temps are in the 40s.

I've seen many a oil truck stopping where the pellet van or wood hauler used to. Seems its a growing trend lately with pellet and wood prices whacked. Oil might be cheaper for some and far less hassles getting it. Good to have that option to fall back on.

I am with you, I have enough to get through this month, and I am out. I went and picked up 10 bags at the local farm store they have a limit. There selling lignectis for 5.69, which is pretty steep, but I should have enough to get me through the worse now!

I am in the same spot with cord wood.

I hope the oil man isn't to hard on you. This winter has been a cold and brutal one.

As I read the posts above about people running out of pellets, I'm reminded of some forum members begging people to get an extra ton or 2 "just in case". Well, "just in case" is alive & kicking butt this winter.

Yes, I understand some of those are pellet "newbies" (they get a pass), but others are pellet "veterans" who should have known better.

    Just my 2¢

I ususally buy 3. i bought 4 this year. i used my just in case lol i don't have room to store any more.

i'm pretty sure i burn more every year.

I think the efficienty of my stove is getting worse, or drafts are getting bigger, or i'm getting older/wanting it warmer, or the global warming is all a lie or...

probably a combo of all of the above

The only ones that have burned less pellets IMHO are the ones that flipped the switch and burned the dino juice due to expensive and impossible to find pellets.

I don't have that option, But many of my neighbors have. Oil guys getting a workout draggin that hose these days. Hopefully they kept themselves in shape, Or the chiropractor gonna make a killing! :D

Good point !! I did cut back this year and stopped chasing pellets once I was at 5.4 ton. Right now, I have 52 bags of Lacrete left and a ton of Geneva sitting in the garage. I am hoping t have a ton left over.

Sooooo, if I can get through this butt kicking winter with about 4 and a half ton burned then 5 ton could be my goal for the future. Bear in mind that 4 of the 5.4 ton were the really good stuff, so I may need to alter that number if I cant afford those but at least I have a good base line.

Of course Pellet Pig syndrome kicks in when good deals are out there and these numbers might be out the window :D

Turned the stove off and opened the windows today. About 20 bags of MWP left and 48 Hamers.

    I need a refill! ;)

    Filthy PIG!

I'd still be topping up with the MWP at $229. Might not see that for long?
