The news just called out for a record low of 0 the old record of 1 was back in 1976. We're already down to 9 degrees.
34 and raining. Been raining all day. Got lost in time and only have enough dry wood in the house to run one stove. Previously, that would have sucked, but with the attic tightened up, we're doing okay. Just brought in four wheelbarrows full of sopping wet wood. Should be dry by the morning. Got enough dry wood to make it through till then. Burning pine. This weekend we are in the mid 30s and lows of mid 20s. We shoot back up to mid-to-low 40s on Monday and then we are in the 30s/20s for the next seven days.
Well, we tied the all time low of 1 degrees set in 1976. So its 1 degrees and a windchill of -10. We never got that low all of last year all season long, think 4 or 5 was the low last year. I just loaded with 5 chunks of Oak, had some walnut and Hedge last night.
-2 right now, wind chill -9.Coldest morning since last February.High around 15 later today.Snow moving in late tonight & tomorrow morning,3-4 inches of powder expected.
Forecast yesterday was calling for 4-8" Sun. night through Mon. sometime. Just looked, and now it's 1/2 that. No comment. I suppose the forecast low of 8 tonight will be wrong too. I'll just load the stove as usual tonight and deal with it....as usual.
Pretty chilly here right now but calling for rain Monday? The gang sure doesnt care about what the weather guy says
This was when I had been watching the weather real close and ended up buying my generator. Saved my building, kept my family and my tenants at the time warm and happy. We were styling compared to many who lived in the country and were without power for 2 weeks.
Yikes! Some of you guys are getting some really low temps compared to what we have had. Now it is coming our way! Did not take long here to get down to 20. We had high 30s and low 40s for a while. Loon, I don't know that I would care much either if I were laying near that stove like that! They have it made! L. O. F. L. Gotta love it!
Ya. My parents and most of my family live in Ogdensburg and only lost power from maybe 5 hours to 10hours. I live outside about 3 miles and we lost power for a week! Knew where it was out and everything, but priority is given to higher population centers. Sounds like you got lucky with the lines out or something! With your population. Did they count the squirrels and deer for consideration?
First snow last night, 8+ inches, the stacks look so good with frosting on top. Forecast for tonight is single digits, as low a 1 deg.! For California, that's just crazy. More oak!
12 deg. & dropping here. Clearing off too. 74 inside with a large load of Oak & Locust mixed. I'd imagine we'll do fine overnight. A C
