Did that today on a holly, and some gangly bush in the backyard. Chain and truck got it done.

    Very nice Dex!

The good old hedge trimmer is an adversary for me. I've managed to fix, flip, and luck my way into a lot of really nice Stihl equipment over the years (I'm virtually allergic to buying new!), but the hedge trimmer has eluded me. I upgraded from an electric to a POS Poulan Pro a year or so ago, but just can't seem to cross paths with a Stihl...

    Crank it up my friend!!!

I had an electric model, then bought the "Weed Eater" model.

It was so dull and burned up, I had to buy a new one. This thing is the upper end of homeowner model. But has the same engine as the lower Pro grade. The 45 has more cc, but is more weight and less power. That is why I paid a little more.

I dropped a pound off the weight, got 6" more of cutting, and got more power.

Just like my KM 130 R, it should last me a long, long time..

You will LOVE it! I went thru the same green weed eater model in no time. Talk about a PIA to sharpen! The stihl has nice straight edges to sharpen...none of that curved edge crap. I have the 30" HS81R. That thing will cut just about anything....including chain link fences, dog cables, coax, etc. Gotta love what some people hide in their bushes. :hair::doh:

Nothing a file wouldn't take care of. Good steel in the blades I guess.

That's a nice little tool ya got. The only stihl I own is a br600 backpack blower and it has been working great the last 3 years. If ya get good with that maybe you could start making animal shapes out of your hedges! Enjoy your new toy, I mean tool.
