Had some fun skidding out logs today with Jred85. We used the ranger and his ATV to pull them out, then used the winch to load them on the trailer. Got a decent load out of it, and pulled down a widow maker as well! Unloading was pretty cool, used his tractor and then cut the rounds off of it. This was all stuff from when the property was logged three years ago. So getting this split and should be ready this fall. Most of it was pretty dry already.
No doubt most of you know but for those who aren't aware, you can pull a lot more and get it started a lot easier if you don't pull straight. Start your pull at an angle and if possible, hook the chain so the log will roll as it gets started. You can pull at least twice as much as if you hook on straight.
