We ended up with only 4-5" in the morning with very little wind throughout the night. The sun came out in the afternoon and just about all of the fresh snow is gone now.
Tomorrow will be a day trip to the cottage for a little cookout and clean-up of the maple I cut earlier this week. Fresh corn on the cob hit the area markets this week!

For the last 2 days I have been able to get to my wood cutting lot to retrieve a portion of my 16/17 supply that had been stacked there all winter. Feels good to work with the wood again and considering I'm about 4 weeks behind when I normally do this I'm glad some of the splitting was already done early in January. Once I get these 4.5 cords back home it'll all get stacked and I'm good to go for being nearly 3 yrs ahead.

I get those sometimes. Had my sinuses drained last year. I find that even though I hate to take medicine if it gets that bad either plain Advil or Mucinex cold and sinus help best.

Caffeine going down right now. I have to get a quick shower to wake up, then make a dump run for parents and us.

Then it is time to go in the woods!:saw:

I need to take down some Pine this weekend to produce some logs for my Amish customer. Time to move to and thin out a different area now.:dex::thumbs:

Working on some shed plans today. I gotta build an 8x10 shed with t1-11 for under 1 k.
I think I can with a single roll up door and a window. Need to get our bikes, a snowblower and a lawn mower in there!

Had a fire in the pit last night and enjoyed a few cold ones. A few too many judging by the thumping in my forehead :picard:. Gotta go check out a job for a friend in a little bit. His FIL needs two big white oaks taken down. If it's the trees I'm thinking of, there's a few cords between the two of em.

Have some wind here Rotti. Not too bad though. Still don't like working in the woods with it. Took two Pine down this morning and some dead ones as well.

I said to myself this morning. "Self. Your getting much better at not getting your saw pinch."

    D'Oheth!

Went and looked at the trees that need to come down. It's the two big white oaks in the foreground. Tree on the right is gonna need a pull to get her in the right direction but the other should be an easy notch and drop. :saw:

I always have my smaller saw with me. But it was lunch time anyway. And that was a good size log. I left the bottom of the tree 24' long. Heavy! So no since messin with it. Went and had lunch and came back with the tractor. Wrapped a chain around her and pulled it free. I had cut 99.5% of the way through.:picard:

So then as I'm starting to drag it out the ground just gives way and I realize I'm not going to get it out of this low area I'm in. Too muddy. Had to unhook from it and leave them there. :picard:I have a bunch of lower areas on my property and you can't do much on them this time of year.

Maybe I will send my Amish friend a note and have him bring his horse, or both his team of horses over and pull the logs out of those areas that are too wet when I get all the logs cut.

Hubby loaded up the old Blazer today with fishing gear, took the lil one out. I am guessing he's getting some bites :seasoned:because they've been gone for a couple hours now. Cool!

They might have gone to a different lake, not in range of the walkie talkie.
