Has a new bottle and mix recomendations. Gone is the 32:1 and 40:1 ratios and in is mix to pre mix ratios as per manufacturer recommendations.

Are you talking about the 661 thread with various ratios?

Whatever works for you. Motul seems popular but I hate the smell. There is a plastics plant in gordonsville and I think it smells just like it.

I am wondering if some entity such as the EPA made them change their recommendation.

Ya I think that's the one....personally I think all the newer oils are good. I think the discussion is centered around the ratio of the mix and cut times. For me 40:1 seems to work pretty good...anywhere from 32:1 to 50:1 should be good for most newer saws is my opinion though.

Isaac left us all hanging with his oil thread. I've been waiting for the next test for a week :hair:

40:1 to 32:1 for ported saws is what I've found many good builders recommend...mine is stock but I still like 40:1

I've been running 40:1 h1r for a while and haven't had any issues other than a lighter wallet.

Ha! As you can see I just bought 4 liters, light wallet indeed, but it does last me about a year.

My local Belray dealer wanted $95 dollars for that jug! lol I've found some places online that are in the $70 range not including shipping. The price is the only thing that makes me cringe with H1r.

I really like Belray but I'm starting to look for more cost effective alternatives. The Lucas oil and yamalube are supposed to work really well.

Exactly....that's what most oil debates boil down to...price and availability IMO

Fwiw...32:1 belray h1r run in my ported mmws 261c I sold ran great but I did notice "spooge" around the muffler openings and being it is a mtronic it had nothing to do with the tuning of that saw.... Very thick oil compared to lucas or stihl hp ultra.

For sure. Trying to mix up a batch in cold temps is always fun. H1R is thick as molasses when it's cold.

    Who carries the Lucas town?

$78 with shipping. It isn't cheap, but I spend extra $ on high quality filters and oil for my vehicles why not my saws and other 2 stroke equipment?

KL-200 Klotz is all I will run. http://www.klotzlube.com/ecommerce/CatalogSearch.aspx?Searchstr=kl-200&SCID=-1

Even tested a old batch from time to time mixed up Oct 2013. Been checking for separation in storage, in saw tanks, in open in glass jar. No separation ever seen and mixed with ethanol gas. Just used the last of that batch Mar 2015.
