It was 70 degrees in the house when I walked in after work today. It was 71 outside:dex: Of course, that was after the tornado sirens went off the first time. Then the sirens went off again around 8:30. Nice to have warm weather, but I'd rather not have to head to the basement all the time. Oh well, such is life in NW OH in the spring.

I figured those were close to you...

They went directly east, so those storms were just North of me..

    Glad you are o.k.!

Neither of the tornado sightings were particularly close, but I still don't like it. I loved storms a few years ago. Now that I have kids to worry about, I absolutely hate bad weather. Funny how fatherhood can change a man.

I have friends that come to my house because we have a basement. They have kids as well.

I used to watch them as well. Now we get candles and supplies.. Run to the basement and watch/listen to weather reports.

Woke up to a thunder boomer. Is it finally spring? I looked out and expected snow, But yes it was a rain. But really close as it was only 38*F. whew!!

Might need to change/cancel our fishing plans. The lake is still froze only have open water on the shore line. Look's like we'll be bank fishing this year or skip it totally?

    Well, That's dabate able. ;)

Similar to boat launce follies, You'll see bank follies. Some actually spend more time fishin in the tree's than in the water. We have many that only come out on opening day. It reminds them why they shouldn't fish. I think we spend more time laughin than actually fishin!!

But then I get irritated because they just leave the line in the tree's. Birds don't like that and neither do I...................... Errrrr!

Those thunder boomers went past me last night too, plus torrential downpours.......sounded like people on the roof w/ hammers. :bug: Dog jumped off the bed and hid in the closet. :)

Be thankful they're not trying to fly fish.

Rain and thunder early this morning, then it got cold and windy, and even saw some snowflakes. We got tired of sitting inside so we took a drive up to Mackinaw City. Still a lot of ice chunks up on the beach. Not many people in town this time of year.

Hoping to get some raking done here tomorrow. It might hit 50. :D

Edit - somehow I had the phone camera on 'antique photo' mode or something like that. Not the best color, but kind of a neat effect anyways.

Open water fishing started here April 1. There's very little open water. Even the shores are still covered in ice. Back in the '70's and '80's when winters were colder the shorelines would open up in mid March We had to use planks to get on the ice to ice fish. That shows how cold March was this year. Next week will have a big impact, though. Hi 50's and low 60's most of the week.

Curious, is there a fishing "season" out there or are the lakes closed? I am not familiar with either, its allowed all year long here.

Maine just changed the laws a couple of years ago. You can fish anytime now. But you can only keep what you catch during certain times of the year. In addition, fish size and bag limits may vary on certain lakes and streams.

As I do know Wild West, but never presume to know her thoughts, the government nipple is in this case is more about a full cavity search, lol
