    Yeah, I liked primus back in the day.
    Jerry was a race car driver....

    I'd have to agree, Brian Ritchie, is a better bassist though.

    I must be outta the loop... Les is gone? There may be better bass players, but there's only one Les. FFB was pretty good too, especially covering "Dark Side..." live like they did.

    Violent Femmes:jaw:? You're kidding me, right? "Let me go on" Violent Femmes? I'm gonna go puke now... Never liked 'em and certainly didn't know they had any need for bass skills at Les' level, Grizzly Adam ...
    After I moved on from Primus, I got into "Clutch" for a few years. But I've since moved on from rock and roll in any style.

    If that's all you've heard of them, I would say you are in no position to judge. I would say Les is better than Jimbo from the Rev Horton Heat, though.

    Yep, so I probably shouldn't judge.... As a former bass player myself, I was always awed by Les' style- I couldn't touch half Primus' bass lines. Then again, I came up on Steve Harris/Iron Maiden bass, so I was kinda sheltered... Not trying to get you worked up at all, Grizzly Adam.... I'm sure if you feel that the Femmes have/had something to offer, I'll take your word on it.
    I did enjoy Flying Frog Brigade's live "Dark Side of the Moon" tho. Very Waters-esque vocals.

    That might be worth listening to. A lot of the bass solos I am seeing tonight are a bunch of echo effects and then some early John Deacon style licks mixed with some speed bass and a bit of him playing with harmonics. But a lot of just two notes lines with distortion inbetween.

    I love primus. And south park. But it wasn't until last year i read some credits on south park, apparently primus does the south park intro song! Idk how it slipped by me for 10years! Is this new news to anyone?
