About a half a load left , I'll get tomorrow Wood from this http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for...o-pass-up-2-cords-seasoned-3-years-100.11675/ Load 1 Unloaded, whip it, whip it good Some odd balls Only found a few pieces of punk , the wood was on cement but had 2x4s on the cement . Lotsa premo wood Load 2 yet to be un loaded Each load about 100 cubic ft Burnin some right now
600 milligrams of ibuprofen for today, I'm doing alright probably be after dark before I get the second load unloaded, but I got my second wind now
It sure is rewarding bringing stuff in for next year or later already. I'm burning some sugar maple uglies from yesterday's load from the woods. (Since it's only 39° out now)
yeah some uglies and some shorties, I picked out stuff with no bark, the wood is bone dry but it wasn't covered so some of the bark is kind of damp. Second load unloaded now First load I took off and forgot to give Charlie any money at all, so I gave them a call to reassure them I would give them their money when I come back, they said they were not worried about it because I said I was coming back, very nice older couple in their seventies
I'm famous!!! WooHoo! Sorry you took an EVW to the shin bone, HDRock ! I winced when I read your post
I feel a little guilty I'm not sure the guy got his money's worth having split it all by hand, but he is happy with a hundred bucks and he's happy to have it gone out of the way
I smacked my shin, errr EVW, on the trailer fender yesterday too. I'm sick of banging that shin bone that I might start wearing shin protection when hauling wood around.
Well, it started with mention of the ankle bone, but also the shin and sometimes the the kneecap can really bring forth some "stop and ponder" moments; like, "what can I throw, will my tongue still work if I bite it in two, can I punch something that will redirect my attention... And the crappiest opportunity-driven situation... When your your woman is standing next to you and says, "Are you ok?" Sometimes I'd rather skin and bash my other ankle bone when she asks me that.... But I love 'er!
man I have dropped so much heavy wood on my feet if I did not wear steel toe boots they would be mangled
I was just reminded by my lovely bride that I should include how I pushed a split towards her on the other side of the splitter on Sunday... She missed catching it and sure enough, EVW'd her in the shin! Man, did I get a look!
They are good for remembering the stuff we want to forget. It's not like we try to do the dumb things we do. Also, when I'm making firewood, I tend to think whoever is out there with me if there is anyone else, is in my mindset. If it's my buddy, well, I've known him since we were 7 years old. It's telepathic almost. When my wife and I are cooking, we are telepathic like that. Firewood making is a bit different from cooking though.
