I know what you mean. It's a great feature that it's so customizable, but then it's like sitting down in a restaurant you've never been in before, and picking something off the menu. :headbang:

Looks great, congrats! Makes me want to have mine done... How far is that mantle from the stovepipe?

Thanks brad, the mantle is 8" from the dvl stovepipe & i still have the pipe shield to install also. I am glad to have two strong sons to set that for me. pretty heavy even though I took a lot of weight off.

I ordered all the options on mine & the rear heatshield was $65.00. as far as the gears on the side I would call and ask. they will prolly put what ever you want there.

Good to have the backs of younger folks! Since you can have 6" to combustibles with double-wall stovepipe, are you just adding the shield for piece of mind?

exactly, can't be to safe. I'm thinking the stove will spend most of it's time on low anyway. 1800 sq ft earth contact super insulated. I have been heating with a pellet stove running on low for the past 8 years, so it should do real good.

Pappy, enjoyed your posts about your new stove. Becoming part of the Woodstock family is indeed a pleasure. You have a beautiful home, and have done a great job renovating. Wishing you many warm moments with your family for years to come.

Dang I am cutting it close. Still need to call them to figure out where the heck a shipping terminal would be. Does a shipping terminal load it onto your truck for free?

I take it they don't need all the details (colors and designs) to place the order? If so that's a relief, I'm still working on a design.

I can't remember who it was, and no way I'm going back through 90 pages to find it, but whoever ordered the one thats black with copper accents I really like. That looks non-standard... it was just the handles and the air control, not the door. I like that, just accent the small parts and not the whole door. The folks with copper or other light colors, how do they hold up? Is it going to be dingy looking in a couple years? Does Woodstock provide touch up paint?

Google ABF freight for terminals. Woodstock had the closest terminal to me at 1.5 hours away. There was one only 35 minutes away and that is where I picked it up.
Some with the lighter colors (almond) had to be a little more careful during the burn in of the paint.
You can buy more paint from Woodstock for touch ups.

Order the stove. Pick the designs later. Ask them if you can customize the paint. As long as the terminal has a forklift it shouldn't be an issue.

Don't need design to place order. They will take a design (sooner the better) and return drafts for approval.

Looks like they have one in Columbus, which is about an hour away and doable. I work downtown so if I can coincide picking up the stove with going/coming from work then its only like 15 minutes away. That's a bit of a relief.

Sounds good everyone. I think I'll pull the trigger. Only other stumbling block is how much this thing is going to stick out into my living room, since it will have to be in front of my already existing hearth, and this ain't no small stove. I'm not even sure if my sectional couch will fit anymore with it. If I didn't have this big aquarium in the way that I'm not even using... maybe I should try to get rid of it to make some more space. I'd just like to think I might start it back up someday. Maybe tomorrow I'll mock up the hearth on cardboard just to see,

I ordered mine yesterday, and they do not require colors or designs. you just call them when you decide.

T-stew, I had mine delivered right to my house, only cost $98.00 extra & saved me a 3 hr drive in to kansas City. Worth every penny for me!

Sure but if he does the same thing and pays $98 to have it delivered to your house then how will it benefit him?

Sorry, just could not resist.

Another suggestion- call Forrest Paint ( Makers of Stove Brite) and they will send you the paint chip card in the mail for free. I received mine a few days after the call. I wanted to have the actual paint chips, just in case the colors on my cell screen were not accurate. (Glad I did, as some colors were a little different on the paper sample.)

We got the black with copper accents on the handles, air control, side panels and cook top. It's held up well, with the exception of the cook top because we've been using it for cooking alot. The sap has been running in VT and we're cooking it down tonight. We're very happy with the look.
