    o_O Can't believe I forgot, I' fire me if I could!

Freezing rain today so didn't want to go out to
    haul wood anyway.
Got wrapped up in vehicle oil changes & stuff.
    But,
Didn't know that I didn't have enough for 1 more full load.

Will be hauling wood tomorrow for sure

Not enough for a full load but enough to get thru till daylight
    image.jpg

Glad it was all big splits, , 2 or 3 pieces shy of a full load .
Hold more now since I emptied the ashes yesterday

I'll add it to the " Senior moments" list.
    LOL :)

Hey, sometimes it just sneaks up on ya! This year i filled a large bin with splits and put it in the outbuilding closest to the basement doors (50ft or so). It's my "oops i forgot to get wood box". It's great for those rainy nights when a quad ride out back to get woood just doesn't seem like a fun idea lol.

You could always cut the end off the wood box, that would have filled it the rest of the way.

Dave do you keep a hatchet by the stove to split pieces to fill in the voids in the stove?

An empty wood box happens all the time around here, it's one nice thing about having the woodshed so close to the back door. I've been known to bring in more wood from the woodshed when it's -18 C in a bath towel and bare feet.

Just gota make sure there's a clear path out the door.

At least you found and rectified the problem Dave...much better than having a cold wife finding an empty wood box!

Dry birch not gonna split with with a hatchet.
Would do that though if i could. Gives me an idea to split more smaller pieces
so i can fill the bigger spaces on the cold nights. :)

Note to self : ?? forgot where I was going with this. LOL :)

Still yucky weather , 33° now
Fog/mist/drizzle kind of day, Seattle type weather.

The snow packed trail between the shed & house is slick ice,
May need to chain up the ATV &put on my studded
sandals to make this happen safely
