Mild temps, fog, and rain made it thought getting the Defiant going this evening. Pine that has been lighting up fast and hot was slow to take off tonight. I expect more of the same tomorrow evening.
I had to keep the air open longer today to warm up the chimney faster. I also am burning pine, small load at dinner, nothing until the morning, its plenty warm. Crazy weathet!
Had the same same Tuesday, Mild temp Rain and drizzle. The worst thing was I was at my daughter's house trying to teach her how to get a fire going and run her stove
Well, chit. When I started the stove at 6pm it was 51 degrees out. Figured it was going to drop a bit. Just came back from the gym and it is now 59 out.
That's what happened here yesterday weird chit Colder now the stove fired up real nice tonight, It's gonna get real cold now
That's how it was until the front came through yesterday. And the fog wouldn't lift until around 10-11am.
Ton of fog right now. Came in this morning, never left, only got worse once night rolled around. Going to the gym was brutal.
Yeah...3 cubic feet is nice for the really cold stuff. I'm doing it with 2 cubic feet, but not that cold either.
31°f here. Have had some severe weather move in & effect the draft. Having a tight stack is more important with the new EPA cat stoves. More heat in the house than up the chimney, cooler chimney temps = less draft. If stove is out a few days, & the stack is cold, I have to Fight to get a draft going . Burning 24/7 with a tight chimney, draft is not been a problem yet this year.
