My girlfriend's mother had this huge willow taken down last year. They offered it to me; I told them I'd bring over my big chainsaw and cut it up for them but I didn't want it. They finally got a taker for it - and I repeated my offer, naturally assuming whoever it was probably didn't have a big chainsaw if they were going after willow...

Turns out it was a plan hatched by the girlfriends - setting the boys up for a "chainsaw play date".  Apparently he liked chainsaws, and had a "big chainsaw" too. So I brought my Mastermind Worksaws MS660 and 32" bar. :D

Turns out Chris had just bought a house and was trying to get started burning wood, and so he was taking what he could get. There was certainly a lot of tree there to be had - the butt of the trunk was about shoulder-high. We talked about wood burning and he knew his stuff - he was from Tennessee, and had grown up burning, but he was unfamiliar with the species of trees around here.

He brought 3 saws himself - a 441, a mean little 261 he built himself from parts saws, and a top handle 192T. So he needed no introduction to CAD, but I'm pretty sure the 660 made his worse... :saw::saw:

He took 1 truck load tonight - there's easily another 3-4 loads. We had a good time - he said he lives for this stuff too. So I gave him an FHC business card, and he said he might join up! :)

To have a big Oak tree that required a 32" bar would make me drool too.

Don't know what I'd do with a 32" bar but would be fun to find out .
Spend a lot of time when sharpening I guess.
Have had a couple rounds 24" at the base.

    Just don't idle well . (1982 model)

Got a 359 in 2011, with a 20" To replace it. easier starting , compression release start is nice.

Look hard at the new Sthil 362 & Husqy 562 xp. Some day :)

Sounds like a great day out there and ended up looking like it too. Glad that you got some play time with the big boy toys...

Yes, that is one of the down sides of the longer bars is the extra sharpening. I remember the first one I sharpened had a 20" bar. The next one had a 36" bar. Hum..... Sort of like the first time I sharpened a 52" circular saw. It takes time.
