I bought 3 of the CS3816 back in Jan. when they were $40 a pop.
I chose the one that showed the most signs of use and have used it since to cut wood.
The second I have for backup and the third is still new in the box.
They are still stock other than slight carb tune. ( I bought the double D tool)
In July I caught the 45cc models on ebay for $45 plus shipping and I bought one.
It had a small amount of saw dust under the clutch cover but the bar and chain were new.
I filled it with mix and oil and it fired on the second pull.
It idled well but when I put it to wood it bogged down and would not cut.
I got out my carb tool but it would not work.
The 45cc carbs have single D screws.
I made a tool out of a piece of aluminum tubing and a piece of vacuum hose for a handle.
Tuned the carb and man does that thing throw chips. :)
After several posted about moreoutdoor4u.com I ordered a second 45cc saw.
It arrived new in the original box, even had the file with it.
I like to have a backup for all my saws.

I only have a pix of the 38cc saw.

It seems strange that you and others have to adjust the Carb? They say all these saws have been thru the shop and do run. I guess that just mean they crank up. Based on the no chips or dust they don't out them to wood. And I g as dont know how to tune either!

As of 15 minutes ago they are out of stock on the "as is " 45cc. Was going to order another. And a 38,all I got was 38. But the way it has been going they may be back up for order in the mourning?

By tuning, they don't mean that they don't run. They all run, but most are a little lean from the factory.

I would want to adjust mine anyways. Just need a tool to do it ;)

I would just think they would be tuned. I have no problem messing with it either. I also have the D tool that the 45 supposedly has!

Just like the Husq come tuned from HD? Almost all are way to lean. Unless it's an actual dealer? They do not "Prep" the saws as they should be.

They may be tuned? Yes... For there oil ratio, atmospheric pressure, sea level, and temp. But a saw tuned at 85° and at sea level, won't run the same in 30° and in the Rockies. If this makes sense?

Never trust a BB store or major distributor.

They are sold "AS IS" for a reason.

    I know you have a tool. :) I meant that I needed a tool to adjust :D

Well, I've been trying to stay out of this but I just couldn't resist. Got the 41cc coming. Prob worth the $1/cc to just fatten up the carb a little, vice grip the trigger and start the timer. Wonder how long that thing could handle wot?

At least someone would have a parts saw for us when we need a part as I see replacement parts beeing hard to get or cost prohibitive, on a $45 saw!

O.k. guys, I know they are cheap saws but I do not think trying to blow them up is fair. Even the high end ones will blow up if you try to.
