I took my wife to the range tonight to shoot the G26. I have large hands so the smaller grip and frame fits ok for me, it's my carry gun so I make it work. My wife on the other hand has very small hands and the grip on the 26 is too big, her trigger finger barely reaches the trigger. Any ideas on a compact carry 9mm with smaller grips and similar feel of the glock?

I carry the Smith & Wesson M&P shield 9mm single stack. It's light, thin, super compact and fits the wifes hand as well as mine well.

Shield or Springfield xds are about the smallest grip size that I've used. We own both of them.

There are so many good ones out there, take her to the gun shop and let her hold them and compare.
Line up a few on the counter and let her go back and forth eliminating the ones that don't fit.
Don't worry too much about brand or price if it is a personal carry piece. Go with what works for her.
If shes not comfortable with it she won't use it.
Are there any local ranges that let you rent a firearm? You could test some to see if she likes them

I'm not sure about the rental thing but I have a few friends and my son that have some of the pieces that have been mentioned already. Might do the trip to the gun shop and let her handle some to get an idea. Thanks for the tips.

Lots of good options. Take her to the store and let her coon finger them all. None of these have safeties just like ur g26...
    Glock 43
Kahr pm9 or cm9 (my pm9 is my small carry when the g23 is too big)
Shield 9 (2 models with and without safety)
Ruger lc9s pro also getting good reviews

Lots of good options listed above. I, like bocefus, support a Kahr recommendation too. She just needs to hold/grip all of the above and see what feels best. Ideally, shoot a few of them too!

Not sure the LC9's are Mass approved yet, need to check on that one.
M&P does have a smaller grip, my son has it. I'll check into that one next week.

How do you like that? I've been wanting a cheap handgun to keep in the garage, I was going to check out a Hi-Point that my LGS had for $140, but they also have one of those SCCY's for $200, and it sure looks a heck of a lot better than Hi-Points do!

I still like the Ruger. I had my wifes LC9-S tucked into my pants all day-(right hand draw, behind the hip) no holster. No one knew it was there. I was wearing a hoodie so it covered it but still....
I checked the "print" with the standard flat based mag., the finger groove mag., and the extended mag. Extended mag was the only one that showed, the other two were fine. It's slim enough it hides well, even on my small frame-(5'-7", 150 lbs.) Good grip also.
But.... she really needs to fondle a few in order to see what she likes. If she likes the feel, she'll shoot better.
Comfortable feel = confidence = ease of operation = a good thing.

Dude, Hi-Point has a very good warranty dept. for a reason. Trust me on this. Don't go there, ever. Ever.
Spend a little more money, you won't regret it. Trust me on that, I'm not kidding.

If I can find a Hi-Point for $125 or less I'll probably pick one up. I rarely hear from actual owners of them that are disappointed in them, even if they have issues they are taken care of "no questions asked". I know it's not a Smith or Ruger, but I want something I can hide somewhere in my garage and not care if it starts to get some rust on it.
