There has been quite an exodus from there for many years now but mostly because of high taxes. This will definitely rout some more out. We have some relatives who lived in CA most of their lives and could hardly wait to retire. A week after retirement, off to Utah. We know of several others too. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind moving to Utah....
Don't stop in PA ! I'm right on the line and have property in both states. Taxes are getting to be equal. The new Gov is a giant nozzle . New gas tax to fix roads and bridges has gas/diesel considerably higher than NY now. Its funny because gas stations that were just over the PA/NY line did very well. Now not so much. Our milk is half the price , gas is 10-30 cents cheaper, and cigs and snuff on the res are a third of PA. Now every one comes to shop in NY. I had planned on retiring in PA but plans are likely to change.
No, New York is ahead of Cali, tax wise. Worst taxed states are on this order. 1 NY state 2 California 3 Nebraska 4 Connecticut 5 Illinois 6 Wisconsin 7 Vermont 8 New Jersey 9 Iowa 10 Maine Wyoming has the least taxes, followed by Alaska, Nevada, Florida, South Dakota, Washington state, Texas, Delaware, north Dakota, and Colorado. For reference, Maine residents pay about three times the taxes that Wyoming residents pay.
It will be 34 in the morning but it's 55 now. Time to make a fire in the pit and watch the moon rise. The wife loves pit fires. She already has a bunch of maple branches stacked up out there.
Pollen season here - my black truck may get washed next month, rain washes for now everything is blooming some trees holding off for this last cold snap tonight
We're number one in something! We've talked about Tennessee a few times, we'll see if things change in the Empire State.
