Guess the stove - here is the part - yes it is a very current model

    Wouldn't the energy be the same? Whether it's pushing or pulling? ?

    And where did the softwood pellets prevent jams come from? Just because the word "soft" is in it, doesn't mean they feed easier.

    A softwood pellet could have more density depending on the mills pressure in the dies? Also, the Rockies I had 2 years ago were a softwood, yet the exterior of the pellet was very dry and grainy. Where Somersets and PTL are very shiny and smooth.

    I'm glad you pointed these things out to the "Pellet Master". He seems to know something the rest of the pellet stove manufacturing industry seems to have missed. :whistle:

    The energy is not the same because the spring auger is lighter. :) Those Quad auger motors do not have the torque of the gearbox motors for sure, but luckily the extra torque is not needed when pulling up a light spring. :)

    Some of my customers have tried some softwoods in there Thelin stoves and their auger assembly lasted longer. The brand of softwood may make a difference, but it was easier for them to tell using a Thelin stove, their DC auger motors are more sensitive.

    The difference in weight is minimal. I would think that all the pellets grinding on one another in the spring auger would have a higher coefficient friction, than the pellets that get pushed up the screw/cylinder type auger. In the screw type, the pellets more less enjoy the ride up to the top once inside the auger flight. Where the screw pellets are constantly being churned?

    It's a good debate, but after owning both? I will stick with the screw and cylinder type. The spring augers on the Quads don't pull fines up at all (just what little is on the pellet).

    Yes, since every piece of crud was stamped with paper work reduction and privacy verbiage and there were sufficient pages to start a roaring
    bonfire.

    It all looked and read like a demented 3 act play. Which it the norm for comedy these days or have you not watched your congress critters in action.

    Just use turbo tax and punch in any numbers you like. Saw a women get back a million bucks that way. Only got caught when she lost the debit card the federal tax return came on and she asked for another.
