To be in the high 20°s Thursday,
Warm enough to do a good coals burn down & empty the stove.
Have near 2/3 cord in there, almost 3 weeks worth (that in its self amazes me)

With several days of hot reloads , there's lots of coals to burn down
I'll have room for another row of wood, & get back to some longer burn times :)

Dave, that cold will start coming in here tonight. Temperatures falling tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night before leveling off a bit. Hopefully the wind will all blow out before Saturday when the guys are coming to chop down some pines for our neighbors.

I go outside now, 23° seems warm.
Don't need a coat , just 2 long sleeve shirt layers.

Near time for you Rocky Mt'ners, & Northern Midwesterner's to bring in some of the "GOOD WOOD" :)

Air mass coming down from Alaska & the Yukon, enjoy
    with My compliments :) :fire:

Oldest Daughter and family lived in Cali for a couple years. When they moved back, they were wearing parkas when it was 40-50 out.
    I just laughed.:)

its amazing how accustomed you can get to cold weather. I worked at a ski resort in CO and it was nothing to wake up and it be -15,-20 out in the morning. I knew it was a cold day when I walked out the house and my eyelids would freeze together. Miss every second of that weather though. Enjoy it Dave!

Does anyone do a partial cleanout? I have found that I only take a shovel or two about once a week in order to keep a good amount of ash in for ongoing insulation.

Sometimes when I get a good burn down or
I've forgot to load & it's a lot cooler & all ash :emb:

Varies, in cold spells, I keep a hot one going & seems to have a lot of hot coals ,
& wait for a day 20°f or warmer.
