Oh no! I can see it now! Somewhere near Milwaukee, there is a house with tiny little pin holes stuck into anything that is made of wood! Hey Honey! What do you think this bread board measures out at? Wow! This roll of paper towel is the lowest reading of anything so far! There, see! I told you these day old brats were too dry to eat...here's the proof! (Dogs are lying low waiting for it all to blow over...)
Too late. How about checking the dog's birthday cake? It's too moist to burn, that's for sure! There was no "cake" setting.
That makes more sense, but it has been drying a few weeks, and it's been dry here. That piece was cut a couple weeks ago, and was cracking at the ends already. The trunk where it was cut off from didn't start sapping out until about 2 weeks after I cut it.
On a lighter note, I WILL NOT attempt to meter a "popcorn fart!" And neither should anyone else, for that matter... Then again, I had a generous helping of my wife's chili for supper tonight.... Nah, poor probes would just melt away!
Well 2 weeks and down to 19.6 is hard to believe (dont dare let BWS know about this), I have had green wood crack on the ends just days after cut and some times the same day, just rapid drying is all, has nothing to do with the moisture content on the inner wood.
It may have been 3 weeks, but yeah, I get your drift. . I might their this chunk on the next fire we have, just to test it out. If it sizzles I know it needs to go longer, but I was going to let all this go until next burn season regardless. I've got a smoke dragon anyway, for now.
No, but I'd say at least 80% of my btu's go up the chimney. I'm sick of that, especially after burning wood in my parent's lopi endeavor at the cabin for a few days last week.
Ohhhhhh snap! Go Badger! The wonderful dog in my avatar TORE UP this Amish friendship bread(cake really, and with added chocolate and double the cinnamon), right off a hot oven/ stove top- he knows no boundaries! That stuff is so moist, it would POP the MM
Why is that, I ran a older stove for 30 years or so and have it in my shop now and it works well, I know some of the older stoves were made poorly but the good ones work very well. Never would have changed my stove out but I bought into all the hype about the new stoves.
