I dont think shipping had anything to do with it, mine went to Tenn and back in some pretty good cushioning.
I dont think anyone can predict when they will let go, but I am pretty sure the extra stress didnt help them. They worked a few times before they cried and threw their final tantrum.
I expect to have the 066 back in running shape soon enough. Have to see how mdavlee's snot job feels :loco: ........... the extra compression he put into it has given her a little more kick.

Dang freak jumped into my lap the first time I tried to start her :jaw:.............. wasnt like that before

Randy, I hope you don't think I was casting aspersions at you, just chatting about something that happened that was similar.

    No, not at all.

I've ported well over 800 saws in the last five years. Out of those I've seen very few failures of any kind.

Here's something I really wish I would see though........honest feedback. It seems like folks are too worried about pizzing someone off these days. If I build a saw for someone, and it has an issue, suffers a failure, or is just a turd.......I NEED to know about it.

How else can I improve what I do?

Wish I could help but the 372 you did for me sounds sweet and cuts like a banshee.

Youza, that's a lot of saws! Why don't you just work out a deal with Stihl to ship them direct to you, before they go out to the dealers?? ;)

I'll give you good honest feedback when you do mine. I'll video a couple test cuts before sending it, and when I get it back with same bar/chain... The only problem is, I'm no expert on any of this and will likely have difficulty knowing the difference! I'm very interested to see though...

I'm no expert either (but I have a few Mastermind work saws) I don't think you will have any difficulty knowing the difference,,, ummmm,,,, yep,, non at all!! :)

I think the only thing your going to have difficulty with is getting the smile off of your face, every time you run the saw, or every time you walk by it sitting on the shelf,,, it will call your name run me, run me,, :)

That one has a ton cut out. Exhaust was 102 without free porting on a new KS jug. There wasn't much left before free porting and then devcon in the intake. It really impressed me how much you could push on it.

I let this guy do my tight rhyming

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway american dream
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
Its a death trap, its a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young
`cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run:BrianK:
