Yeah, the generosity of people here just absolutely astounds me.
Maybe doesn't seem like a big deal to you Canadian border VT, but that's huge.
    Had to say it.

There ya go , free stove , free wood on your property , all ya have to do is get cutting splitting and stacking , get hearth n chimney installed .
In that order , don't forget you will need an outside air kit.
Kudos, to you Canadian border VT

Actually, it brings tears to my eyes that you would do this for me when you haven't even met me. Thank you so much. I accept the offer and thank you so much. This will remove the worry of the stove and as you said, let me learn about what I may need; If I do buy a new stove after using this one, I will gift it to someone as you are gifting it to me. Now I can concentrate on the chimney and hearth. I brought a new Poulan saw from Tractor Supply during their Black Friday deal; Dad's old saw is not running. I had a small white oak to blow down two years ago so I am going to start on that

I still can not believe this; you are so generous. Thank you; I can not say that enough.

Canadian border VT has offered you a deal too good to pass up. Good for you Canadian border VT , very generous!
As he suggested, I would build the hearth and chimney compatible with either stove. After a couple years, you may want to upgrade. Meanwhile I bet your heating cost goes down by 70%.
    What an offer o_O .

I am also having to repair my Dad's old 8N tractor. It started with the oil pan leaking, I got the gaskets for that and then found out the water pump was bad; so had to buy a new one; then the other day I found out the crank pulley was bad; worn a groove in the shaft; so that was another $45. The tractor needs to be running so I can plough my veggie garden. It is also going to haul the wood out of the woods.

I feel like doing a happy dance; do we have a happy dance smiley? :dex:air guitar will work.

We have so many threads that end like this, I would hate to see them all get lumped together into just one thread. Congrats on your new stove Kimberly!

and an axe. That is going to have to do for now because there are no funds for any sort of wood splitter.

Dad use to tell me that wood warms you twice, once when you cut and split it, and again when you burn it.

Even if the stove goes cold during the night and the electric heat kicks on, I think she will still save a ton on her electric bill from when she does burn it. Heck, she could save the $$ to upgrade if she chooses to at a later time (or a splitter or whatever). I am so thrilled with how this thread turned out! I think I am most pleased that she will not be living in a cool house. My husband went to California over Thanksgiving, they all had NG/electric heat and had thermostats turned way down to save money. After keep me in unusually high temps in our home for the last 10 years he said he froze his tootie!!

Kimberly did you mention you mother lives with you? If so you may become her favorite child
