The answer is the new PelPros and I have seen one that looks exactly like this in the Pleasant Hearth stove sold at Lowes.
They all have that single dial control.

 

Do they have the same torque as the other auger motors? Seems like they would be easier to change out.

 

I do not think they have as much Torque as a gearbox auger motor.
They motor is held in by a hitch pin.
What do you mean change out?

 

It seems easier to replace one of those when they fail then some of the ones with gearboxes. What's your take?

 

Yes, a little easier than a set screw but I like the more rugged set bolts like the old Englanders ,
With this type because the auger shaft is only 1/2" I have seen the base of the auger ripped out when it is used with a higher torque gearbox motor such as the Golden Eagle.
Since this has the quad reversing motor the auger base will not get damaged but it does get auger jams because pushing pellets up is harder than pulling pellets with a spring auger. 100% softwood pellets help prevent jams.

 

pretty sure that's for that Vogelzang Chinese wood burner.....I have no point or reference for size....maybe cordwood could go thru it?

 

I thought it was an ice auger ,that you could plug in to the lighter outlet on your Ski Doo or 4 wheeler
