Well It's good to be home sweet home . I hope ya heal up quick as possible That sucks It happened and to your dominate arm . Maybe you could get yourself tablet , for me a phone screen is just to small , when using the tablet, most of the time I don't type , I use the speech recognition
Just found this thread, sorry to hear about your elbow. Glad everything went okay and wishing you a speedy recovery, Sucks having to go all the way to Ottawa eh? I had to spend five days down there years ago when I broke every bone in my foot. Keep trying to type though, we all like your posts.
So...being left handed...do you do all the paper work from your sit down jobs left handed also? Gotta be a treat learning the other hand after all those years! Sure sounds like you did a number with all the hardware imbedded in you.
Yeah Chris, the best part was that initially when I was sent down wed night they had said the surgeon was waiting for me and get there ASAP, when I got there a 1st year resident seen me and was going to send me back home to be done in a week to 10 days. they were introduced to rottiman's not so nice side and finally agreed to do it in the next two days. now I get to go back on Wednesday for a recheck and prob a new cast.
They got off easy Rotti... you could've had Bear with ya too... I bet he's lovin' having you around more. Go easy... and, no more showin' off on that ice...
7-10 day wait for a surgery like that OUCH! .... I'm glad that you got to help redirect there thought process....
That was prolly sped up a bit cause of Rotti's calm & sooothing one handed choke hold on that 1st year resident...
all things considered Piney, I am doing good. just dealin with it. a little apprehensive about the long term but what will be, will be. could of been a lot worse thank god I have a thick head..........
Hardest thing I had to learn how to do with my non dominant left hand when I trashed right my elbow was wipe my arse. It's been a lot of years since and I still drink left handed and sometimes eat left handed.
Just read about your fall. Hope all is progressing. Falls are now among my greatest fears at 66 yrs. old . May it be your last unless it is just falling into bed. Have a day
Just found this thread. Sorry to hear about your fall. thankfully you were able to talk some sense into the 1st year dr. and get surgery right away. It will be a long haul but pushing things too fast will make it worse. Hopefully the posts on FHC will make your recovery bearable. I have said it before, we need a "so sorry" button. Clicking a like button on this post seems wrong.
One silver lining is that the heating season is ending and the days will get warmer. If this means you have to forego some things you usually do in the summer like gardening, so be it. This would've been much worse had it happened in early December. Your health and comfort are far more important than doing what you normally do. You're set back for a few months and maybe longer, try and make the best of it that you can.
How you doing now rottiman? What's the latest? Your week hand must getting more exercise in general, eh? Especially having to drive and flip those birds by itself and all?
You should have landed on your head then, and not your elbow. Sorry, I had to. I'm glad you are doing a little better though. Being at home no doubt helps.
