Found this on CL. And to be honest I only looked bc Dex is looking for cool saws for his new basement. But after looking add said it ran great. Picked it up for $15. Runs great and thought it could be a cool saw to have around and play with. Old school 1973 Remington saw. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

They are definitely cool machines. Glad it was still there.

There is an old Bradley by me. Looks nice, and a little pricey. I will find a saw eventually. I have that 015 that would suffice. But when I see the "one" I will know I have to have it.

Congrats on the buy Swags. For $15, that's a good truck saw, UTV saw, etc.

I have a late 60s/early 70s Remmington SL-9 (46cc) and it cuts surprisingly well for its age and size.

$15 is a steal, even as a mantle piece.

Dex I got all excited last night when I found an even older Remington in Massillon that looked awesome. It looked perfect for your bench, but it was gone already.

I appreciate the extra eyes. If it's in the 40-50 yr old and older category? And looks pretty cool (don't care about model)? Then shoot me a text. I have an added CL Pro search for old chainsaws :)

You don't see saws today built with metal housings anymore, nice! Then again I bet it's fairly heavy...

Yeah. It's around $200 ($150? ), but for a classic like that? I would consider up to $200. Heck, I have spent more than that on my Blue Max and the Quakes.. :)

The Stihl S10 with the 17" bar is a work horse. It it basically the home owner's version of the S-08. A little slower chain speed - 7,000 rpm & earlier models were 49cc, later models are 56cc . I have 2 currently in use. For an all metal saw, power head dry weight is 15.5lbs. With .404 chain it can really throw the Noodles!

Personally, I would probably not even give $20 for one. No real cool factor and there are plenty of them out there. For $200 you should get a bunch of saws or a good usable saw.

Of course, your money, your choice.

For example, this is what $200 should buy...
