It was a very cold winter up here in the foothills of the Adirondacks. The highs and lows are getting higher so it's just a matter of time before I start cutting. I made my way down to the entrance to the woods, after making my way in, (not far) I made my way out, it might be another two weeks depending on the melt.
He is correct Dave. Our lowest was -26. One other night it was -21. Both times our water pump froze but we caught it in time so no damage. The only difference is that -26 was the all-time lowest in some spots but not in others. Our coldest here was -29 but I do not remember the date. I do remember the cold.
OUCH Hard to go out & breath at those temps. Your winter was more brutal than the news reported, they were sensationalizing snow fall , Seems to be the pattern still, East is cold, West is above average temps. 37° for the low temp here last night
But believe it or not Dave, we burned much less wood this year than last. It was average for us based on the amount of wood burned.
